EDITORIAL WORK

Eric Slomanson is an award-winning photographer based in San Francisco who covers the whole west coast and also continues to work in the east, particularly in Manhattan where he grew up.

A graduate of Vassar College with a double major in anthropology and film, cum laude, he then received a photojournalism scholarship at San Francisco State University where he made Dean's List.

Slomanson interned at The Modesto Bee, The Hartford Courant and The Los Angeles Times, respectively, before joining Zuma Press as a contract photographer.

WEDDINGS

I love photographing weddings! Many times, as a journalist, I must document the misfortune of others, but at a wedding, everybody's happy and the food is much better. :) Shooting a wedding calls on my complete set of skills as a photojournalist. My style is unobtrusive and personal: I'm there to capture peak moments, candids and the overall feeling of the event. Staging family portraits – just after the ceremony and before the reception – can either be formal or emulate the whimsical mood of the event.

CORPORATE EVENTS

Again, my editorial style is based on my extensive experience as a newspaper and magazine photographer, but I am also adept at studio lighting. Whether it's a simple soirée, dinner, small conference, national sales meeting or extravagant bash, my job is not to simply document, but to capture emotion and show how spectacular your event is.
